Experience or relive Jesse Drent
The popular Dutch trick trainer, rider and content creator Jesse Drent and his super charming pony Macho are coming to Herning.

The audience was thrilled when Dutchman Jesse Drent entered the gala shows together with his super charming pony Macho. The audience simply loved the two together and the liberty dressage they presented back in 2024. Since then, the show committee has received numerous inquiries from enthusiastic fans of Jesse, hoping to bring him back to the Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing. That will happen this year, where audiences can look forward to experiencing even more from the 30-year-old Jesse Drent. And this year, Macho will not be the only one coming to Herning — Jesse is bringing another of his four horses to Denmark. Which one it will be remains a secret for now.

You can experience Jesse Drent at the two gala shows with the theme Fairytale”, taking place Friday and Saturday evenings — March 6 and 7 in Herning. You can also get a closer look at Jesse on Sunday at noon, when he will host a clinic in Dansk Hesteforsikring Arena E, where he will talk more about his daily life and how he works and trains his horses.

It Started at the Riding School

If you didn’t experience Jesse Drent in Herning in 2024, you may have come across him on YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok, as he is nothing less than a social media sensation. He has become a major idol for many horse enthusiasts.

He does not come from a horse family. His sister rode a little, and Jesse joined along and got a ride himself. That was enough — he became completely hooked on horses. Since then, they have been his great passion.

His education with horses began, like most people’s, at the local riding school.
“I always looked forward to the day I was going riding. So from the very first ride, I had no other interests — only horses,” he told Ridehesten when he last visited Herning. He later trained in horse management.

Today, he works with horses, trains and teaches, and hosts clinics and shows. He has his own brand, Nalanta, where he sells equipment such as bitless bridles.

Jesse Drent enjoyed performing in Herning and is very much looking forward to meeting the Danish audience again, whom he experienced as extremely kind and truly enthusiastic. At this year’s Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing in Herning, it will once again be possible to meet Jesse Drent up close at a “meet & greet” — keep an eye on our social media channels, where we will share more information as the event approaches.

When Jesse Drent last attended the Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing, he appeared on the cover of Ridehesten magazine, which also featured an interview with him in the same issue.

Jesse Drent’s Horses

Jesse lives on a farm in the Netherlands with his four horses/ponies, all of whom are part of his work and shows:

Andorra

  • Andorra is an NRPS mare and Jesse’s “once in a lifetime” horse.
  • She is the horse where everything began for Jesse and taught him a great deal about communication and cooperation.
  • Andorra has retired from shows but still lives at home and continues to receive plenty of attention.

Macho

  • Shetland pony stallion and one of the stars of Jesse’s team.
  • Macho is known for his big personality, loves to work, and often brings good atmosphere and humor to performances due to his “big character” despite his small size.

Antares

  • A special horse on the team who captures the audience’s attention.
  • Antares works well with Jesse and also participates in shows, where he both demonstrates training and performs.

Gaio

  • Lusitano gelding with an interesting background.
  • He was previously used as a bullfighting horse, but through positive training he has become gentle, cooperative, and capable of performing dressage movements and tricks.
